Matthieu Beck, Scott Pelloux, Love In The Afternoon

02/12/2023, 6-11pm
Matthieu Beck will lead an ensemble of 7 musicians across songs from his debut record, supported by DJ sets from Scott Pelloux & Love In The Afternoon
Although advance tickets are sold out, a handful of tickets will be available on the door.

Matthieu Beck will lead an ensemble of 7 musicians across songs from his debut record "Here Alone", specially arranged for one night only at Black Tower. A perfect antidote to dark December nights, Matthieu's laid-back, lilting rhythms bring to mind summer breezes and sandy beaches.

Born and raised in France, a lifetime spent chasing records, playing in bands and selling wine eventually brought Matthieu to London, where this LP came together. Any suggestion of sorrow in the album title is actually a mislead - this may be a solo LP, but Matthieu’s surrounded himself with the musical friends he’s made over the years, serving as composer and bandleader to a willing troop of collaborators. The record includes contributions from longtime friend and former Metronomy bassist Gabriel Stebbing, Source Ensemble drummer Emmanuel Mario, and vocals by Laetitia Sadier.

The line up for this event is as follows:

Matthieu Beck - Keyboards
Joe Carvell - Bass
Arthur Sajas - Flute and guitar
Nathan Pigott - Saxophones
Rosa Theodora - Marimba
Eno Inwang - Percussion
Oscar Robertson - Drums

DJ sets come from Scott Pelloux and Love In The Afternoon (Matthieu Beck's DJ moniker for his show on Do!You! Radio).
